Donald Trump’s shift in US policy on Ukraine and Russia is putting Poland’s close relationship with the US to the test—something Polish President Andrzej Duda experienced firsthand during his recent visit. Duda was eager to be the first European leader to meet Trump after his reelection. TV footage showed him waiting in a VIP area, later clapping from the front row as Trump spoke. Trump praised Duda as a “fantastic man,” highlighting that 84% of Polish-American voters supported him in the 2024 US election. All of this was in stark contrast to how French President Emmanuel Macron was received at…
SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — In a final statement at his impeachment trial, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol defended his martial law decree that plunged the country into chaos as a bid to inform the public of the danger of the opposition-controlled parliament as he vowed Tuesday to push for political reform if reinstated. Then she fell for her boss—yep, Bill Clinton, married and the most powerful guy around. “It was a messy two-year thing,” she…
LONDON (AP) — It was not your typical smash-and-grab burglary and the booty was precious: a toilet worth more than its weight in gold. The one-of-a-kind 18-carat gold toilet was swiped in under five minutes from Blenheim Palace, the sprawling English country mansion where British wartime leader Winston Churchill was born, in the predawn hours of Sept. 14, 2019, a prosecutor told jurors Monday. Attorney Julian Christopher said in his opening statement in Oxford Crown Court that it was an “audacious raid.” One of three men on trial in the case of the purloined potty was involved in stealing it…
