Bug fixes and minor improvements make up nearly all of Battlefield 2042’s new update
For the second time in a week, DICE released a patch for Battlefield 2042 in an effort to fix some of the game’s lingering issues as well as introduce some minor quality-of-life improvements. On Wednesday, DICE released a massive patch notes post detailing all of the changes they made to the game.
As part of the most significant overhaul, the user interface has been updated to make a few key points more apparent. It is now possible for players to see if there are any other players within 50 metres of them, so they know if they can be revived. If a reviver pings for a downed player, the game will display that information to the player. An icon will now appear above friendly players’ heads if they need additional ammo or medical attention in Battlefield 2042’s HUD. Then you can assist them if you have the appropriate equipment.
Plus Menu, the in-game menu that allows players to change attachments, was also updated by DICE to make it easier to use. The patch notes don’t go into great detail about what the developer did, but they do say that important changes should now be made with fewer button presses.
Also included are a number of minor fixes and enhancements. Cross-platform invitations and overall matchmaking should be more consistent now. When exiting a multiplayer game, the game’s menus should also run more smoothly.
As many as 100 new features and tweaks have been added to Battlefield 2042 in its latest update 3, but some of the most-requested features are still missing. Full scoreboard and voice chat are not implemented in this patch. The patch notes do not provide any information on when either feature will be released..
