If you don’t find or connect a Far Cry 6 locked chest and mysterious key, it could cause problems. Guau-Guau Island has the chest, but Chorizo possesses the key. However, while no one will miss the sausage dog Amigo Chorizo, the chest is in a difficult-to-find place.
Plus, there’s no visible prompt connecting the two at first, so you can miss the connection. If you’ve discovered one or are perplexed by both, we can help you with the Far Cry mysterious key and locked chest.
The Far Cry 6 locked chest may be found very early in the game while exploring Isla Santuario. It’s a red treasure box on Guau-Guau Island, a little island in the midst of Casas Cove, with the words ‘Locked – Key Required.’ Your instinctive reaction is going to be to scan the small island for the key or some form of clue. Give up because the key can only be found as part of a special assignment you’ll come to later, which is up next…
The Mysterious Far Cry 6 key
When you eventually go to Costa Del Mar and the Montero Farm Guerrilla camp in Madrugada, you’ll uncover the Far Cry 6 mysterious key for the locked chest. Chorizo’s kennel may be found here, where you can start the task Who’s a Good Boy? That will require you to go crocodile hunting in order to provide food for him. After that, you’ll be able to access a new mission called Fetch Quest. You’ll be following Chorizo about as he digs up gifts for you to recover. A ‘Mysterious Key’ will be one of them. You’ll have to go into the menus and entirely disregard the ‘Keys’ page since this item is in the Logistics section, where the description reads ‘Guau-Guau’ is scratched on the side that Dani ‘thought I saw that on a beach somewhere on Isla Santuario’.
If you’ve already found the locked chest, observed and remembered it’s on Guau-Guau Island, then you should be seeing lightbulbs at this point when you realise what it all means. If not, all you have is a key and some questions. In any case, go to the island on the map we showed you above and you’ll be able to open the chest and grab the reward, a one-of-a-kind gun called ‘Fuck Anton.’
This rifle isn’t particularly powerful in terms of damage, but it does fire poison bullets that can cause adversaries to turn on each other and has rock-solid handling. Rather than attacking bases directly, use it to tag as many soldiers as possible, then duck out of sight while they kill each other.
