Federal prosecutors allege that Antonio Lamar Bland, Abigail Luckey, and Ronnie Tucker carried out multiple late-night robberies, with Bland and Tucker entering stores armed while Luckey acted as the getaway driver.
Their spree ended after an attempted robbery at a Downey donut shop, leading to their arrest. If convicted, the suspects face significant federal prison sentences, with trial proceedings set for May 6, 2025.
Federal authorities have indicted three individuals in connection with a two-week robbery spree that targeted 12 businesses across Los Angeles and Orange counties.
Suspects Identified
The Department of Justice announced that the following individuals have been charged:
- Antonio Lamar Bland, 36, of North Hollywood
- Abigail Luckey, 49, of North Hollywood
- Ronnie Tucker, 23, of Long Beach
Series of Armed Robberies
According to the indictment, the suspects allegedly committed robberies between January 29 and February 14, 2024, primarily during late-night hours. Prosecutors say Bland and Tucker entered businesses wearing hooded sweatshirts and masks, while Luckey waited in a white four-door sedan, serving as the getaway driver.
The targeted establishments included:
- Nine 7-Eleven stores across North Hollywood, Burbank, Van Nuys, Torrance, Long Beach, Glendale, and Pasadena
- A smoke shop in Tustin
- Two donut shops in Los Angeles and Downey
Marriage and Continued Criminal Activity
Authorities revealed that Bland and Luckey traveled to Las Vegas on February 6, 2024, to get married. Two days after their wedding, they allegedly resumed their robbery spree.
Final Attempt and Arrest
The suspects’ crime spree ended at a donut shop in Downey, where an employee noticed a firearm tucked into one of the suspects’ waistbands. Fearing for his safety, the employee fired a warning shot, prompting the suspects to flee.
Federal authorities, who had been monitoring the attempted robbery, pursued the suspects and conducted a traffic stop, leading to their arrest. During a search of the vehicle, a firearm was recovered, officials said.
Charges and Potential Sentences
All three suspects face multiple federal charges, including:
- Conspiracy to commit interference with commerce by robbery
- Three counts of robbery
- One count of attempted robbery
Additionally:
- Bland and Tucker each face an additional robbery charge and four counts of brandishing a firearm during a violent crime.
- Bland, who has a prior felony conviction for carjacking, faces an additional charge of firearm possession by a felon.
Possible Prison Sentences
If convicted:
- Luckey faces up to 20 years in federal prison.
- Tucker faces a minimum sentence of 28 years.
- Bland could receive a maximum sentence of 58 years.
The suspects remain in custody, with their trial set for May 6, 2025.
