Prince Andrew supposedly tried to prevent Charles from ascending to the throne
A new book claims that Prince Andrew “lobbied” the Queen to stop Charles from succeeding to the throne of England.
According to the explosive biography “Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall: From Outcast to Future Queen Consort,” written by Angela Levin. Princess Diana and Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson are accused of working together to prevent Charles from becoming king before the queen’s death.
According to Camilla’s book, Andrew was strongly against the marriage of Charles and Camilla.
If the queen had died before William turned 18, then he would have succeeded to the monarchy instead of Andrew, the current main corgi protector.
Known for his extensive royal family biography writing, Levin states that a “top insider” told him that Andrew and Diana intended to “push Prince Charles aside.”
The insider stated, “When Diana was alive, through her friendship with Andrew’s wife Sarah, [Duchess of York,] she plotted with Andrew to try to push Prince Charles aside so Prince Andrew could become regent to Prince William, who was then a teenager,”
“His behavior was very, very negative and extremely unpleasant to Queen [Elizabeth], who disagreed. I was told it was one of the rare occasions he didn’t get his way,” As the text states.
“Nonetheless, he was apparently very angry that he couldn’t rule the country in some way. He remained so hostile to Camilla’s emergence and acceptance that it’s doubtful it has ever been forgiven.”
According to Levin’s book, Andrew treated Camilla “very unpleasant” and “poisonous” because he thought she could not be trusted.
There have been speculations that Charles and Andrew’s relationship has been tense for some time, especially when the Duke of York lost his military titles owing to claims of sexual abuse and ties to Jeffery Epstein.
Even at his mother’s funeral he was forbidden to wear his military uniform.
After being stripped of his royal duties, the embarrassed prince has tried to keep a low profile, with the exception of a touching eulogy he wrote for his mother.
“Dear Mummy, Mother, Your Majesty, three in one. Your Majesty, it has been an honor and privilege to serve you,” According to Andrew’s declaration. “Mother – of the nation, your devotion and personal service to our nation is unique and singular; your people show their love and respect in so many different ways and I know you are looking on honoring their respect.”
“Mummy, your love for a son, your compassion, your care, your confidence I will treasure forever,” he added. “I have found your knowledge and wisdom infinite, with no boundary or containment.”
