Pokémon GO: Reshiram Counters, How to Beat Reshiram
Reshiram, along with other Unova Legendary Pokémon, returns to Pokémon GO this month for a series of grueling 5-Star Raid Battles. This Legendary of the Fire/Dragon-type can take up to five people to defeat, so you’ll need to work together and know the best counters to defeat it.
It will also be the first time players have the chance to obtain a Shiny Reshiram, which has never been seen previously in the game. According to Niantic, at least one person will obtain a Shiny in a full group of 20 taking on a Raid Battle, thus forming a large group for the Raid would only increase your chances.
Reshiram’s Best Counters in Pokémon GO
Because of Reshiram’s Fire/Dragon typing, the best counter is to use another Dragon, or a Ground or Rock-type Pokémon to take on the Legendary Pokémon. Due to Reshiram’s immense power, it’s also a good idea to bring along any Legendary Pokémon that are super-effective offensive types to hit as hard as possible.
Rayquaza, Terrakion, and Groudon are the ideal team to face Reshiram. With excellent offensive stats, good typing, and a powerful array of moves, any of these three in a squad will undoubtedly assist you. Flygon is a dark horse contender for the finest Reshiram counter due to its dual Dragon/Ground typing, which both deal significant damage to Reshiram. Flygon, unfortunately, will experience any Dragon-type attacks just as much as its opponent, thus it won’t be easy.

Can Reshiram be Shiny in Pokémon GO?
As previously stated, Reshiram can now appear as a Shiny Pokémon in Pokémon GO. Shiny Reshiram has been added to the game for 5-Star Raids this month, along with other Legendary fifth-generation Pokémon Zekrom and Kyurum.
While both Reshiram and Zekrom Raid Battles will be available throughout the month of December, they will be more prominent during special Raid Hours on December 1, 8, and 15 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM local time. During this time, each of the Legendary Pokémon will become more readily available, providing you the opportunity to assemble a team and set off in search of a Shiny Reshiram.
