Pokemon Go’s Research Breakthrough for August 2021 has been unveiled, and Trainers will be able to win rewards and catch a Chimecho by completing Field Research tasks this month.
Research Breakthrough, which was first introduced in 2018, is a weekly challenge that leads to a guaranteed meeting with a ‘mon in the game after completing a total of seven daily Field Research tasks.
The mobile game will return to the Hoenn region of Ruby and Sapphire in August 2021 to spotlight the Psychic-type Pokemon Chimecho. Trainers who gain a Breakthrough in August will also receive a free Remote Raid Pass!
What is Field Research?
Tasks received via spinning a PokeStop or Gym are known as Field Research. Players who want to earn rewards will have to travel because they can only accomplish one task per place each day.
Each job has a goal that Trainers must meet in order to receive a reward. Special items to encounters with specific Pokemon are all possible rewards.

How to get Chimecho in Pokemon Go Research Breakthrough
Every month at the beginning of the month, a new Research Breakthrough is added to the game. Every day, players that log in will be assigned a single Field Research activity that will reward them with a stamp if they complete it.
Because you can only acquire one stamp per day, Trainers will need to perform these tasks over the course of seven days to attain the final goal, which currently triggers a Chimecho encounter.
New Field Research activities are also available at spinning PokeStops, albeit the game still only allows you to obtain one stamp per day.
Field Research Breakthrough Shiny rates
Pokemon encounters through Field Research and Breakthrough Prizes have a Shiny rate of roughly 1 in 450, much like most characters. Even though the odds aren’t the best, they’re still better than the majority of mainline RPGs.
If you want to enhance your chances of finding a Shiny Chimecho, make sure you don’t skip any Field Research days. Trainers who finish each week will receive a total of four encounter chances.
