Overwatch 2: Setting up SMS Protect

Using the SMS Protect system, Blizzard Entertainment may now notify gamers about changes to their accounts directly on their mobile phones. For this reason, we will explain how to prepare SMS Protect for the release of Overwatch 2 so that you can focus on the game’s debut. But before we get to the benefits and criteria, let us go over the basics of the program.

Battle.net SMS Protect is a security solution that prevents unauthorized access to your account by replacing lost or stolen Authenticators and restoring your user ID. Users can also opt in to receive notifications on their mobile devices whenever there is suspicious activity on their account, which can be useful for keeping the peace in a neighborhood.

Games like Overwatch 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare require you to give your phone number in order to play on Battle.net. Keep take note that there are limitations for some participants who use VOIP or pre-paid network services. SMS Protect, for instance, is incompatible with iMessage and WhatsApp and hence prevents their use when playing these games.

Guide to SMS Protect

The following instructions will help you set up SMS Protect for the most recent version of Overwatch 2 if you have the necessary phone and service plan:

Launch your Battle.net client and sign in.

The Battle.net help center has step-by-step instructions on how to add a phone number to your account.

You can update your contact information in the Account Details section.

Put in the code you were given.

The verification code will be delivered to your phone through text message once you enter your number.

To see if your phone number has been confirmed, go to your Account Overview.

You can begin playing Overwatch 2 as soon as your SMS Protect account has been set up. It is important to keep in mind that a given phone number can only be linked to one Battle.net user account. If you have misplaced your phone or no longer wish to use the number linked with your account, please send a ticket.

This concludes the installation instructions for SMS Protect in Overwatch 2.
