Kyle Rittenhouse only raised $2,500 in one month of crowdfunding
Since last month, Kyle Rittenhouse has raised little over $2,500 through crowdsourcing to pay for the civil litigation suits he has been battling for the past year. Since being criminally exonerated, the Kenosha gunman has made numerous public appearances to gather money and pay for his extensive legal bills.
Despite being celebrated and paraded for quite some time by the MAGA movement, Rittenhouse appears to have fallen out of favour as of late. He no longer makes public appearances and his legal problems have only just begun.
During a chaotic night of protests in August of 2020 about police violence against Black people, the 19-year-old was accused of murdering two individuals, Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber, and wounding a third, Gaige Grosskreutz, with an AR-style semi-automatic rifle. However, all allegations against him were dropped in November of 2021.
While GoFundMe has banned Kyle Rittenhouse, his “Freedom-loving, patriotic friends of the Rittenhouse family” have set up a fundraising page on another platform. For the purpose of protecting himself from the civil law actions brought against him by the relatives of the slain protestors, Rittenhouse has started a GoFundMe page, which has raised a meagre $80 each day (since listing).
