How to Get Ho-Oh in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Ho-Oh, one of the series’ rarest and most powerful Pokémon, is one of the many Pokémon available in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl. But, as you might think, obtaining the famous bird is no easy task. After that, we’ll show you how to obtain Ho-Oh in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl.

How to Get Ho-Oh in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

First and foremost, those seeking to catch the Pokémon on Shining Pearl will be disappointed to learn that Ho-Oh, as well as all of the legendary hounds, are only available in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond. After defeating the Elite Four, Cynthia, and receiving your National Pokédex, which is granted to those who pay Professor Rowan a visit to Sandgem Town after completing their Sinnoh Pokédex, Brilliant Diamond players can get Ho-Oh on Ramanas Park, a region that is only available in the postgame.

Once you’ve arrived, go to the counter and trade your Mysterious Shards for a Rainbow Slate, which will only be available when you’ve purchased three Discovery Slates and three Johto Slates. You must next proceed to the Rainbow Room to place the slate on its pedestal. To get there, simply go to the park’s outdoor section and walk northeast of the entrance until you reach the beach. Simply walk up the stairs and into the Rainbow Room once you’ve arrived. Place the slate on its pedestal once inside and prepare to meet Ho-Oh.

To summarise how to locate Ho-Oh in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, follow these steps:

  • Defeat both the Elite Four and Cynthia.
  • Get the National Pokédex.
  • Go to Ramanas Park and buy the Rainbow Slate.
  • Head towards the Rainbow Room.
  • Place the slate into its pedestal.
  • Battle and capture Ho-Oh.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl are now available for the Nintendo Switch exclusively. If you’re not sure which version to acquire, compare the main differences between Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl.
