Golett is a Ground/Ghost type with relatively low stats (ATK 127, DEF 92, STA 153). At 100% IVs (15/15/15), its CP values are modest: a level-40 “hundo” is 1189 CP and a level-50 max is 1344 CP. In fact, the GO Hub IV chart confirms a perfect Golett appears as 509 CP from field research (level 15), 679 CP from raids or 10 km eggs (level 20), and 849 CP in weather-boosted raids, with a max of 1344 CP at full level. In other words, a 15/15/15 Golett yields 509/679/849/1344 CP in Research/Raids/Raids(Weather)/Max as shown in the official chart.
- Base stats: ATK 127, DEF 92, STA 153
- 100% IV (15/15/15) CP: 509 (research), 679 (raid), 849 (raid weather), 1344 (max)
- Level 40 “hundo” CP: 1189, Level 50: 1344
Because of its low bulk and CP cap, Golett is not a powerhouse – its ideal IV spread is simply 15/15/15 (“hundo”), which these charts illustrate.
Shiny Golett in Pokémon GO
Shiny Golett is available in Pokémon GO. It first debuted at GO Fest 2023 (New York City) and was officially released on August 18, 2023. Its palette change is very subtle: “its yellow accents [turn] green and its body colour [becomes] slightly desaturated”. In practical terms, Shiny Golett has neon green eyes and a green swirl where the normal form has yellow. According to the official guides, “Shiny Golett is available!” now – players can encounter it in the wild or from raids (with the normal shiny rates).
- Release: Debuted at NYC GO Fest 2023 (Aug 18, 2023)
- Appearance: Yellow highlights → green, body slightly lighter
- Rarity: Same as a typical shiny; no permanent shiny boost beyond special events.
Because the color differences are so minimal, many players almost miss a Shiny Golett unless they compare it closely. But rest assured that catching a spotlight-hour Golett can yield the Shiny.
Golett Evolution and Battle Use
Golett evolves into Golurk for 50 Candy. In battle, Golett is mainly a stepping stone – its stats and movepool are weak. Its Fast move is Mud-Slap and best Charge move is Shadow Punch. It can also learn Brick Break or Night Shade, but even with Mud-Slap + Shadow Punch, Golett’s performance is limited. In fact, one analysis bluntly notes “with low ATK and bulk, Golett doesn’t work out in PvE” – you’re usually better off evolving it immediately.
In PvP, Golett fares poorly due to its low CP cap. It “maxes out at 1344 CP, making it underpowered for the Great League and useless in the other Leagues”. Its recommended PvP moveset is Mud-Slap + Shadow Punch (and Brick Break in a pinch), but even this mainly matters only in Little Cup or very casual matches. In summary, train Golett just enough to reach your IV/CP goals, then evolve it: Golurk will be far stronger.
Quick tips: If you’re IV-hunting, look for a Golett with CP around 1189 (level 40) or 1344 (level 50) at 15/15/15. Remember Shiny Golett exists (yellow→green), and expect Golett’s battle role to be minimal – its main value is evolving into Golurk.
