The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is offering an exciting opportunity for undergraduate students through its Stokes Undergraduate Scholarship Program. This program combines financial assistance with valuable internship experiences, paving the way for a career in national security.

Award:

Tuition assistance up to $25,000 per calendar year, internship opportunities, and full-time work upon college graduation

Eligibility:

Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, US Citizen of birth or naturalization, 18 years of age by September 15, 2023, a maximum yearly household income of $120,000 or $50,000 if independent, acceptance to a 4-year college/university (if in high school) OR acceptance to a graduate school (if a college senior), availability to work at least two 90-day tours in the Washington, DC area prior to graduation, and willingness to work at the CIA full-time after graduation

Scholarship Details:

The Stokes Undergraduate Scholarship Program is an internship and financial needs-based scholarship to help undergraduates acquire CIA mission-critical skills while completing their degree program.

At the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), we recognize our Nation’s strength comes from the diversity of its people. People from a broad range of backgrounds and viewpoints work at CIA, and our diverse teams are the reason we can keep our country safe.

Because CIA invests in scholarship recipients, accepting an offer means continued employment with the Agency for a specified timeframe. As well as the program benefits below:

Program Benefits:

  • Tuition assistance up to $18,000 per calendar year, STEM students receive tuition assistance up to $25,000 per calendar year
  • Daily allowance for meals and incidentals during summer work tours
  • Partial lodging reimbursement
  • Reimbursement for transportation costs between school and Washington, DC area
  • Competitive annual salary
  • Health insurance
  • Federal retirement plans
  • Paid time off, as well as sick and holiday leave
  • Guaranteed employment post-graduation. After graduation, all scholarship recipients must work at the CIA for a period of 1.5 years per year of paid scholarship received.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Academic excellence in core subjects relating to college major or desired major
  • Relevant practical or job experience in your field of interest
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities
  • Genuine interest in contributing to CIA’s mission

Due to the length of our medical and security process, the scholarship open call is March 1 through June 30, 11:59PM EST for the summer following.
