Powerball: How to play?
Every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. EDT, the Powerball is selected, giving you three chances to win each week.
Each rollover increases the size of the multimillion-dollar jackpot, and tickets cost only $2 or $3.
Powerball tickets cost $2 each, Powerball + Power Play tickets cost $3 each, Powerball + Double Play tickets cost $4 each, and Powerball L with Power Play and Double Play tickets cost $5 each.
You should get a ticket from a vendor. There are five separate sections, labelled A through E, on each ticket.
Aside from those in those states, residents of Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah are not permitted to participate in Powerball. It is open to inhabitants of the other 45 states, plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.
