Welcome to our guide of “Weird West: How To Open The Heathen’s Box?”. If you’re wondering how to open the Weird West Heathen’s Box, you’ve come to the right place. Keep reading to know how to do so.

Weird West: How To Open The Heathen's Box?

How to open the Heathen’s Box in Weird West?

During a chance event titled “A Witch at the Crossroads”, you’ll receive this Weird West Heathen’s Box. As you move throughout the map, this will stop you and bring you to the Heathen. She’ll hand you a box and warn you not to unlock it after some chat, indicating she’ll request for it back later.

To accomplish the box’s challenge, you must keep the box on you for the most of the game, unopened. It’ll move from player to player, mostly accomplishing nothing but taking up space in the inventory. You should eventually get a next “A Witch at the Crossroads” encounter when playing as Constance the Oneirist, where the Heathen will appear and take the box back, but only if you haven’t unlocked it. The “What’s in the Box?” award or achievement will be awarded as a result.

However, there appears to be some confusion concerning a slapping competition that some players believe you must win in order to trigger the last Heathen event, so let’s go over it briefly just in case:

⦁ You should go into the Heathen again when playing as Desidério Ros the werewolf and be invited to a slapping match. You can’t win, but you should try anyhow.
⦁ When you’re acting as Constance the Oneirist, you’ll come across a location in Somnolence called the Authority’s Quarters. You must be able to locate an “Amulet of the Open Palm” if you look around.
⦁ When you meet up with the Heathen again as Constance, you’ll be invited to another slapping match, which you might be able to win this time provided you carry the Open Palm amulet.
⦁ After you’ve won the contest, you’ll have to deal with the Heathen again, who will ultimately request for the box back.

Conclusion

Apart from incorporating the Heathen, the slapping competition does not appear to be directly tied to the box. However, there appears to be some debate on whether or not it is necessary to complete this mission in order to claim the accomplishment or trophy. As a result, if you’re pursuing the trophy, it might be the safest option.
