The Government has confirmed that VA benefits for the month of July 2026 will be deposited on their eligible veteran’s date. The calendar for this year has veterans getting their monthly VA payments before the month ends, so the July 2026 payment will be issued before August.

The Department of Veterans Affairs has announced that eligible veterans will receive their payment for the month of July on Friday, July 31, 2026.

While the payment is for benefits for July, VA disability compensation is usually paid for the month that benefits are paid for. If the first day of the month is a Federal holiday or weekend, the payment is made on the last business day of the previous month.

Since August 1, 2026, falls on a Saturday, July’s benefit will be deposited on July 31. The July 31 deposit is just an advance payment of the VA’s monthly payment, which occurs this month because of the weekend.

It is not a stimulus payment, bonus, back pay, or additional payment. If a veteran is eligible, the VA should mail them their regular monthly benefit on the regular payment date.

2026 VA Disability Payment Rates

Veterans’ monthly payments will differ based on disability rating, dependent status and other benefits for which the veteran is qualified.

The monthly compensation rates for 2026 are some of the following:

  • 10% disability rating: $180.42
  • 20% disability rating: $356.66
  • 30% disability rating (veteran and spouse): $1,342.31
  • 60% disability rating (veteran alone): $1,435.02
  • 70% disability rating (veteran alone): $1,808.45
  • 100% disability rating (veteran alone): $3,938.58

If a veteran has a dependent, then the monthly compensation may be increased.

For example:

  • 100% disability with a spouse and one child: $4,318.99
  • 100% disability if spouse, two parents, and one child: $4,671.47

2026 COLA Increase Already Included

The 2.8% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) is among the VA benefits you can expect in 2026.

The increase was automatic, and eligible veterans need not apply for or attach any other documents to their claims to receive the higher rate of payment.

Other VA benefits available.

Disability compensation is a monthly payment that is available for veterans who served in the military and have a service-connected disability, but it is not taxable.

Additionally, other monthly VA programs are available:

  • Dependency benefits and Indemnity benefits (DIC)
  • Veterans Pension
  • Survivors Pension
  • Special Monthly Compensation (SMC)
  • Aid and Attendance
  • Housebound benefits
  • Ensure information is current.

Veterans who have recently changed banks, addresses, or family information should make sure their records are up to date.

If there is a problem with the direct deposit or mailing instructions, benefit payments may be delayed, especially during scheduled payment dates.

The significant date to keep in mind for July 2026 is Friday, July 31, when eligible veterans will receive their monthly VA benefits.
