The Social Security Payment Schedule for July 2026 has been announced, with SSA confirming the SSI and SSDI payment dates for this month. We have curated the article below with all the necessary information.
The Social Security Administration (SSA) has also announced the payment schedule for July 2026, noting that the dates for each payment category vary based on when recipients first started receiving benefits.
However, the SSA will not make all payments on one day, but will continue making payments to beneficiaries of Social Security retirement and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments as in the past, using its payment timeline.

When will Social Security and SSDI Payments arrive?
For most people, their Social Security retirement and SSDI benefits are paid on Wednesdays according to birthdate.
The July 2026 payment schedule is:
Wednesday, July 8 – Birth dates between the 1st and 10th
Wednesday, July 15 – Birth dates between the 11th and 20th
Wednesday, July 22 – Birth dates between the 21st and 31st
Who Gets Paid on July 2?
Social Security’s payment date for recipients beginning benefits prior to May 1997 and those who have Social Security and SSI benefits is generally the third day of the month.
That payment will be made on Thursday, July 2, for July 2026 since July 3 is the federal holiday of Independence Day.
In the meantime, recipients of SSI will get their normal July payments on Wednesday, July 1.
Why some SSI Recipients Will be getting Two Payments
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is paid on a different schedule than regular Social Security retirement and SSDI benefits.
SSI payments are typically paid on the first day of the month. If the first day is on a weekend or federal holiday, however, the payment is made on the preceding business day.
August 1, 2026, is a Saturday, so the SSA will pay the SSI for August on Friday, July 31, 2026.
Consequently, people who receive SSI will be entitled to the following benefits:
As a result, eligible SSI recipients will receive:
- July 1 – July SSI benefit
- July 31 – August SSI benefit issued early
The second July payment is NOT an extra benefit or bonus. It just shuffles the August payment up on the calendar due to the weekend calendar.
July 2026 SSA Payment Schedule at a Glance
| Payment Type | Payment Date |
|---|---|
| SSI (July benefit) | July 1 |
| Social Security (before May 1997 or dual recipients) | July 2 |
| Birth dates 1–10 | July 8 |
| Birth dates 11–20 | July 15 |
| Birth dates 21–31 | July 22 |
| SSI (August benefit paid early) | July 31 |
Although SSI recipients will receive two deposits in July, there will be no additional SSI payment at the beginning of August.
The July 31 payment is for the month of August, and will be paid early because of the weekend, so beneficiaries should plan accordingly.
