The purpose of the survival adventure game Raft, in which you play as a character on a raft, is to make it through the waves alive.

You will begin your quest of survival with absolutely nothing in your inventory, but as you go through the game, you will uncover additional materials and blueprints that will allow you to create or build various buildings and other objects.
One of the significant in-game milestones is reaching the point when you can add a sail to your raft. It will assist you in steering your raft more effectively so that you can reach islands and regions that are abundant in treasure and resources.
The following walkthrough will not only teach you how to install and make use of a sail in Raft but will also instruct you on how to navigate against the wind.
Adding Sail in Raft
In the game Raft, the Sail is an item that belongs to the navigation category and allows you to determine the path that your raft may take. The direction of the sails may only be regulated to a certain extent depending on the direction of the wind. A Flag or Streamer may be used in conjunction with the Sail to create a unique visual effect.
To construct a sail for your raft, you will need 10 pieces of plank, 20 pieces of palm leaf, and 3 pieces of scrap metal. This sail may then be attached to your raft.
Planks are a common item that may be discovered in Loot Boxes and also float throughout the ocean as flotsam. In addition, trees may be felled in order to collect these things.
It is also possible to get palm leaves by chopping down palm trees or gathering them from the ocean. Last but not least, Scrap may be discovered in Barrels, Vacated Rafts, and reefs in the vicinity of islands.
When you have gathered all of these components, go to the main menu and choose the Navigation tools option. This will allow you to create the sail. After it has been created, the sail may be attached to the raft’s Steering Pole in order to use it.
Using Sail in Raft
After you have finished attaching the sails to your raft, you will be able to use them to steer the movement of your raft in any direction you want. To utilize the sail, you must first come close to it, then press and hold the “R” key, and last, you must move the mouse in the appropriate direction.
You may sail to either side of the boat by angling the sail, but doing so will reduce your speed. The sail can only provide very limited maneuvering capabilities, and it cannot improve the raft’s speed or push it forward into the wind. As a result, the addition of more sails to your raft will be pointless.
If you sail in a direction that is perpendicular to the direction in which the wind is blowing, your pace of movement will be very sluggish; yet, this will enable you to travel against the wind.
Sailing against the wind
You will not be able to successfully navigate against the wind with the sail alone in Raft. You will need to make use of the paddle in addition to the sail if you really want to make progress in the opposite direction of the wind.
Bear in mind, on the other hand, that progressing against the wind will be quite sluggish. Additionally, if you attempt to sail against the wind, you will not get any treasure until you turn around and sail in the regular direction.
