Pokémon GO: Zekrom Counters, How to Beat Zekrom
This month’s 5-Star Raids include Zekrom. You may add this formidable Dragon/Electric-type to your team for the rest of the month, joining fellow fifth-generation Legendary Pokémon Reshiram.
These raids will be difficult, so try to team up with other trainers in groups of five or more. A Shiny Zekrom may be found this December, as well as the best counters and movesets for fighting him.
Best Counters for Zekrom in Pokémon GO
While Zekrom’s dual type makes it a challenge for any trainer, it has several flaws. Due to Zekrom’s secondary Electric typing, you can expect Dragon, Ice, and Fairy-type techniques to hit strongly against Dragon-types.
If you have Rayquaza, Zacian, and Groudon, they are the ideal trio to battle Zekrom. Garchomp, a non-legendary Pokémon, is a good choice for dealing with Zekrom because of its dual Dragon/Ground typing. To avoid getting struck by Zekrom’s Dragon-type attacks, only take in your Garchomp if it’s leveled up enough to take them.

Can Reshiram be Shiny in Pokémon GO?
This month’s 5-Star Legendary Pokémon, including Zekrom, can be Shiny. To increase your chances of snagging a Shiny Zekrom this month, take advantage of the special Raid Hours. For the hours of December 1, 8, and 15, extra Zekrom will be available at Raid locations, increasing your chances of finding a Shiny.
There is a way to guarantee a Shiny Zekrom this month, but it is not easy. Before fighting a Zekrom, you must establish a full Raid party of 20 players, and one of those players will be assured a Shiny encounter. It’s not perfect, but it beats solo raiding for hours.
