Pokémon GO – Electabuzz Spotlight Hour Guide

Electabuzz, the first-generation Electric-type Pokémon in Pokémon GO, leads off this month’s Spotlight Hour schedule. The in-game environment will be overrun with these iconic thunder-punching Pokémon for an hour, and we’ll break down when the event takes place and how to make the most of it in our guide.

We’ll also discuss if this special Spotlight Hour Electabuzz can be Shiny for Shiny hunters who need to complete their Electric-type collection.

When is Electabuzz Spotlight Hour in Pokémon Go?

The next Electabuzz Spotlight Hour will take place on Tuesday, December 7 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time. This Spotlight Hour comes with a 2x Transfer Candy Boost, meaning you’ll gain twice as much Candy for each Pokémon you send to Professor Willow.

When you combine the large amount of accessible Electabuzz with the transfer Candy benefit, you may be well on your way to landing an Electivire if you use your time wisely. This hard-hitting Electric-type Pokémon is a terror for any Water or Flying-type Pokémon, so it’s well worth adding to your roster for any challenging Gym Battles.

Can Electabuzz be Shiny?

Electabuzz will be available in Shiny form for the duration of the next Spotlight Hour. You can’t guarantee a Shiny spawn at any point throughout the sixty minutes, but you can enhance your odds if you’re properly prepared. Keep an Incense on one side to promote spawning and increase your chances of seeing a Shiny Electabuzz, or, if you’re close enough to a PokéStop, use a Magnetic Lure Module.
