Messi’s post after World Cup win is most-liked post by Sportsman

The entire planet rejoiced as Lionel Messi and Argentina lifted the FIFA World Cup trophy. Messi scored twice in Argentina’s 4-2 penalty shootout victory over France in the World Cup final. The game ended 3-3 after regular and extra time.

Messi’s Instagram post celebrating the historic victory quickly became the most-liked post by a celebrity after he uploaded it 18 hours after the game.

Messi’s social media post incorporated an ad for Louis Vuitton with a shot of Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo playing chess. As of the 19th of December evening, Ronaldo’s post received 41.9 million likes, while Messi’s had 45 million.

Messi posted photos of the riotous post-championship celebrations. He accompanied the photo with the phrase “World Champions! I dreamed it so many times, I wanted it so much that I still haven’t fallen, I can’t believe it…… Thank you very much to my family, to all who support me and also to all who believed in us. We demonstrate once again that Argentines when we fight together and united we are capable of achieving what we set out to do. The merit belongs to this group, which is above individualities, it is the strength of all fighting for the same dream that was also the dream of all Argentines… We did it!!!

As of December 19, 2022, Messi’s Instagram post has received 56.2 million likes, making it the most liked post of all time and surpassing Chris Godfrey’s viral snap of an egg, which had previously held the record.

Argentina won their first World Cup since 1986 and third overall when they overcame France in the penalty shootout. It was also a career high point for Lionel Messi.

Messi scored a penalty in the 23rd minute that put Argentina ahead, and then again in the 108th minute to make it 3-2. When he scored in the World Cup’s group stage, round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, and final at the age of 35, he made history.
