“Lady Thor – Next Playable Hero character will appear soon”
Lady Thor, the next playable character in Marvel’s Avengers, has been kept under wraps by Crystal Dynamics. She will, however, be in the game by the end of the month, according to the studio, who stated that she will appear in “late June.” There was no mention of a specific date, nor were there any images of the hero in action.
Crystal went into much detail about this in its June update post. She’ll have her own gear, abilities, emotes, takedowns, nameplates, Hero Challenge Card, and a new chain of Heroic missions, all with cosmetics and lore items that explain how this Lady Thor came to the game’s world (though the actor hasn’t been confirmed). Some of Thor’s takedowns and emotes will be “Jane-specific remixed” for her.
The article then went into detail about Lady Thor’s talents, stating that she will “naturally echo the Odinson’s.” After that, Crystal named two of her Intrinsic and Overcharge powers — All-Blessing Mother’s and God Tempest, respectively — but didn’t explain how they function. Her Ultimate, the All-Weapon, will, however, take inspiration from the comics as she slays foes with Undrjarn and Mjölnir. Undrjarn was purportedly discovered in a recent datamine and was made from Mjölnir shards. Her other attacks are a blend of new and “old” techniques.
An upcoming gameplay video, trailer, live stream, and dev blog will go through her moves in detail. However, Crystal did not disclose any specific dates.
Other details
The message also hinted at what’s coming up after the next update. “Hero and villain-centric content” is being added to the game’s narrative by the company. After M.O.D.O.K.’s Kree Sentinel was defeated, there will be a Warzone that explores what happened to him. The Cloning Lab mode, endgame content that rewards players with powerful and exotic gear, will also be available. Cloning Lab was redesigned after failing to meet Crystal’s standards and overarching villain-centric directive, but the company claims that the new changes will “make for a much more satisfying and meaningful Omega Level Threat experience.”
