Pokemon from prior generations, including Hoenn’s popular Flygon, can be caught in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. The Dragon-type, on the other hand, has one of the lowest spawn rates in the Gen IV remaster. Follow this guide to learn how to catch Trapinch and Vibrava quickly and how to evolve them in BDSP.

How to get Trapinch in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

Trainers who want to add Flygon to their team will have to wait a little longer because the Gen III Dragon can only be obtained after completing the main storyline. Even after becoming the new Sinnoh Champion, you must unlock the character by following the steps below:

  • Complete the Sinnoh Dex after beating Cynthia by seeing all 150 Pokemon in the area.
  • To access the National Pokedex and PokeRadar, speak with Professor Rowan in his lab in Sandgem Town.
  • Travel to Route 228 and enter a grassy area. Walk onto one of the four shaking patches of grass using your PokeRadar.
  • This technique should be repeated until Trapinch arrives. It has a spawn rate of 2% in BDSP, therefore it may take some time.

Trapinch can be found in the Grand Underground as well. Rocky Cave, Sandsear Cave, and Big Bluff Cavern Hideaways all have it. It’s a rare spawn, just like Route 228.

How to get Vibrava in Pokemon BDSP

Players who catch Trapinch on Route 228 will need to collect experience points in order for it to evolve into Vibrava.

At level 35, Trapinch transforms into Vibrava. By engaging in bouts with wild Pokemon, players can level up their Gen III’mon. You can also use a Rare Candy to instantly increase its level by one level. Vibrava can also be found in the Rocky Cave, Sandsear Cave, and Big Bluff Cavern Hideaways of the Grand Underground.
