How to Get the Guardian Shield in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1
New content and items were introduced in Season 1 of Fortnite, which was recently released as Chapter 4. The Guardian Shield, a new weapon introduced this season, is looted from Oathbound Chests all over the map. One of this week’s challenges calls for players to have a Guardian Shield in their inventory, so not only is this shield practical, but it’s also necessary. Here’s where to look and how to equip the Guardian Shield in Fortnite.
How to get the Guardian Shield in Fortnite
Start a Battle Royale match in Fortnite
Start a Battle Royale match on your preferred Fortnite platform, be it a console, PC, or mobile device, and look for the Guardian Shield. The Guardian Shield can be found in any mode, whether it be Solo, Duo, Trio, or Squad.
Find an Oathbound Chest
The two primary ways to acquire resources in Fortnite are by searching spawn locations and looting fallen enemies. As it is often difficult to ensure a successful elimination, and as there is no assurance that the defeated foe was in possession of a Guardian Shield, it is usually best to look for the shield in the areas where it is most likely to spawn. Oathbound Chests are the only known locations where Guardian Shields can be found, so finding one of these chests is your objective. The Guardian Shield may or may not be inside the chest, so you may have to open several before you find one. It’s recommended that you begin your search for oathbound chests in areas with a high concentration of them, such as the Citadel.
Carry the shield in your inventory
A Guardian Shield will be automatically added to your collection once you find one. You should only use the shield when absolutely necessary because of how short its duration is. Do not use the shield unless absolutely necessary; its effectiveness will decrease as soon as you activate it.
Hold or throw the shield
Two primary options present themselves when you’re prepared to activate the Guardian Shield. One is to physically grasp it and press the “fire” button to start firing. This is a good way to safeguard yourself while on the go, as it will allow you to move around while the shield is active. Another option is to simply throw the shield to the ground. Throwing a shield or healing item to another player is a good analogy for this situation. Once the shield has been set down, it will remain in place and provide cover for as long as it remains. You can retrieve it from the shield’s focal point, should the need arise.
