How to Get Dialga and Palkia in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

The mascots and symbols of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, Dialga and Palkia, are at the top of the wish lists of the millions of players who are presently exploring Sinnoh in their quest to complete their Pokédex. With that out of the way, let’s look at how to obtain Dialga and Palkia in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, respectively. Please be aware that the following content contains spoilers for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl.

How to Get Dialga and Palkia in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

When players reach Spear Pillar in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, they will be able to battle and catch each version’s main legendary Pokémon. Spear Pillar is located at the peak of Mt. Coronet and is where many think the region of Sinnoh originated. The region will appear in one of the game’s final sections and will be where players will face Team Galactic’s Leader Cyrus in a battle.

Players will have the opportunity to battle and catch Dialga (Pokémon Brilliant Diamond) or Palkia (Pokémon Shining Pearl) after defeating the villain and experiencing the events that follow. Before facing Dialga or Palkia, make sure you save your game and switch off autosave. We recommend using either Ultra Balls or the Master Ball to catch them, but keep in mind that, as with other Pokémon in the game, lowering their health to 25% is a requirement.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl are now available for the Nintendo Switch exclusively. If you’re not sure which version to acquire, compare the main differences between Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl.
