How to apply for student loan relief program of Biden?
The President made the announcement that his program to help students with their student loans is now accepting applications on Monday.
A preliminary version of the program was released by the administration last week. The White House claims that since its release last Friday, more than 8 million borrowers have filed for debt relief with no reported bugs or crashes.
Biden remarked during a press conference announcing the launch, “It’s easy. It’s fast,” He went on to say that applications may be completed in less than 5 minutes from a desktop computer or a mobile phone.
“This is a game changer for millions of Americans to get moving.”
People making less than $125,000 per year would be eligible for a debt cancellation of up to $10,000, while those who got a Pell Grant would receive a debt cancellation of up to $20,000.
Personal information such as name, DOB, and SSN are required on the application. You can fill out the form in either English or Spanish on any of our websites. Its scheduled closing date is December 31, 2023.
There will be no document uploading or Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID requirements for borrowers to use this application. Borrowers need only check a box to “certify under penalty of perjury under the laws of the United States of America that all of the information provided on this form is true and correct.” rather than providing supporting documentation to prove that they will have an annual income of less than $125,000 in 2020 or 2021, or $250,000 as a married couple.
More than 40 million people, according to administration estimates, will be able to benefit from the aid initiative.
