A decade after The Great War, humanity slowly rebuilds itself in the not-too-distant future. Believing that the propensity to lie is the core cause of the devastating conflict, a tech entrepreneur develops a pill carrying a nanotechnology programme called ‘Guidance,’ which promises to make everyone more educated. “Once consumed, an A.I. ‘instals’ in the person’s neural system and improves their ability to detect dishonesty in others, among other benefits,” according to the summary. “A young couple goes on a weekend retreat to the countryside and starts using Guidance.” Recent occurrences, however, may have jeopardised their trust in one another. The couple tries to subvert Guidance with the technology in their bodies in the hopes of saving their relationship before it’s too late.”
The video and commercial centre on the titular Guidance pill, which promises enlightenment to people who take it and install artificial intelligence within their own nervous system. Lotus Corp., the corporation in the film that manufactures the drug, has also developed a website.
