What is Godzilla minus zero about?
The official synopsis has Godzilla Minus Zero take place in 1949, two years after Godzilla Minus One.
The story picks up where the previous film left off, the Shikishima family desperately fighting one last battle. After a fragile peace, there’s a new threat as humanity finds hope again.
Ryunosuke Kamiki reappears as Koichi Shikishima, and Minami Hamabe is returning as Noriko Shikishima.

Takashi Yamazaki Returns

Why Godzilla Minus Zero Has Huge Expectations
Godzilla Minus One was a worldwide hit upon release in 2023.
The movie made over $116 million globally, becoming the highest grossing Japanese-produced Godzilla production ever.
It also netted Academy Awards for Best Visual Effects and Best Costumes – the first awards for Godzilla films.
Toho is hoping to capitalize on that momentum in Godzilla Minus Zero and keep one of the longest-running franchises in cinema alive.
Godzilla was first created by the Toho company in 1954 and is one of the most recognizable characters in film history.
