Final Fantasy XIV: How to Unlock Sage in Endwalker
In Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker, the Sage job is the newest Healer class, and it’s quite simple to obtain. It, like the majority of new classes, can be found in one of the game’s three starting cities. Although you don’t have to finish Shadowbringers or begin the Endwalker main scenario tasks to unlock Sage, you must first reach the required level. Sage, like Reaper, starts at Level 70, thus if you don’t have another class at that level, you’ll have to grind. In Final Fantasy XIV, here’s how to get Sage.
How to Unlock Sage in Final Fantasy XIV
To gain access to Sage, simply complete the “Sage’s Path” quest, which may be begun by conversing with the Sharlayan Maiden in the Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (X:9.4 Y:12.9). Because this quest requires a minimum level of 70, you’ll need at least one other job that is level 70 or higher. To begin this quest and unlock Sage, you must also own the Endwalker expansion.
If you can’t find this task, check for a blue quest icon with a plus sign next to it. Missions with this icon always unlock something, and this is true even for new job quests. Sage’s Path shouldn’t be difficult to find in the Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks, as there aren’t many tasks there.
The Sage’s Path quest exposes you to the Sage job questline’s primary characters. But, more importantly, it provides you with a complete set of Sage gear, to begin with. A full set of Level 70 Sage gear, a Level 70 weapon, and a job crystal will be given to you. Due to the fact that this class begins at Level 70, your hotbars will be extremely congested straight away. Take some time to look through the tooltips for each skill to get a sense of how the job works.
You won’t be able to start playing the Endwalker main scenario quests immediately away because Sage starts at Level 70. The Endwalker MSQ starts at Level 80, exactly where Shadowbringers ended. That implies if you want to enjoy the new material as a Sage, you’ll have to grind 10 levels. Thankfully, with 6.0, the same tried-and-true leveling procedures apply.
When you’re leveling a job that’s lower than your highest-level job, the armory bonus gives you bonus XP, and Endwalker increases that bonus XP from 50% to 100%, making leveling simpler than ever. You can begin spamming Shadowbringers dungeons with Holminster Switch once you reach Level 71, or you can jump right into Bozja from Level 70. Also, when you turn in a diary to Khloe in Idyllshire, you get half a level from Wondrous Tails.
Normal dungeon queue times for healers are short, but with everyone trying out Sage, it appears that the wait times will be much greater than before. DPS players that want to use the new Reaper job in dungeons should do the same. If you don’t have the patience for extended queue times, you can use Trusts to speed through the Shadowbringers dungeons. Playing with NPC allies will help relieve some of the pressure and allow you to gain a better sense of Sage’s playstyle.
