Final Fantasy XIV: How to Unlock Reaper in Endwalker
In Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker, the Reaper job is the newest Melee DPS class, and it’s relatively simple to unlock. Players can begin the new questline and obtain the new gear in one of the game’s starting cities, like with most new jobs added to the game. To unlock this job, you do not need to complete the Endwalker main scenario quests, but you must satisfy the minimum level requirement. Reaper, like Sage, starts at Level 70, so you’ll have to grind a little if you haven’t previously. In Final Fantasy XIV, here’s how you get Reaper.
How to Unlock Reaper in Final Fantasy XIV
To gain access to Reaper, simply complete the “The Killer Instinct” quest, which can be begun by conversing with the Flustered Attendant in Ul’dah – Steps of Nald (X:12.8 Y:8.6).
Because this quest has a level requirement of 70, you must have at least one combat job of 70 or higher to accept it. Always keep an eye out for a blue quest marker with a plus symbol attached. Any quest with the blue icon will reward you with something, and the Reaper quest is no exception.
The Killer Instinct quest introduces you to the Reaper job questline’s major characters and, more significantly, provides you with a starter set of Reaper armor. You’ll receive a complete suite of Level 70 armor, a Level 70 starting weapon, and a job crystal. Due to the fact that this class begins at Level 70, you’ll be given an almost overwhelming number of skills, to begin with. Spend some time reading the tooltips for each skill to get a sense of how the job rotates.
You won’t be able to play the main plot with Reaper straight immediately because the Endwalker MSQ starts at Level 80 and picks up right where Shadowbringers left off. Grinding from Level 70 to Level 80 can be a daunting task, especially for those who just want to play the new Endwalker dungeons and trials, but it shouldn’t be too difficult if you already know how to grind.
Endwalker doubles the armory benefit for all classes below level 80 from 50% to 100%, making leveling up simpler than ever before as long as you have another high-level combat job. As always, have some meal and join a Free Company for quick XP boosts before heading to the Bozja or Shadowbringers dungeons to grind. You can also receive a lot of XP by turning in a Wondrous Tails adventure to Khloe in Idyllshire.
