Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker Downtime: How Long Will Servers Be Down for 6.0?
The game will be shut down to install the update into its servers when Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker early access begins on December 3rd. The question is how long the servers will be unavailable. Players will want to know when the servers are back up so they can start leveling up and accessing Final Fantasy XIV’s new content. Hopefully, players have been prepared for Endwalker for some time now. Even if you are unprepared, there are still ways to start the content on the first day. Let’s talk about when the servers should be up and running again.
How Long Will the FFXIV Servers Be Down?
Final Fantasy XIV’s servers were supposed to be taken down 24 hours before the expansion went live. At 1 a.m. PST on December 2nd, players noticed that the servers had gone down. With the Endwalker expansion live, the servers should be up and running at 1 a.m. PST. Going to the launcher will confirm this, as a status update will be provided indicating that servers will be restored at this moment. It should be noted that maintenance completion times can vary, thus the servers may not be available at 1 a.m. pst. If there is a delay, the launcher should display a status update.
Players should be able to download the Endwalker patch for the game once the servers have been restored. Don’t be shocked if your download speed seems slow because everyone is downloading the update at the same time. This is a server-side problem, not a problem with your ISP. Many players will want to start the download late at night and then go to bed early the next day so they can get to work later that day. There’s no need to rush the update because nothing will change if you don’t start playing as soon as it’s available.
