Lady Gaga described poker face as the expression she pulls when she’s having sex with a man, but wishes she was having sex with a woman.
It was the second single from her debut studio album, The Fame, taking the crown for her most successful single alongside “Just Dance.” The official music video was released on October 22nd, 2008.
“Poker Face” reigns as one of the best-selling singles of all time, with over 14 million copies sold. When it comes to sales in the United States, according to Billboard, as of February 10th, 2019, the song has sold a total of 7.5 million copies. The song climbed to #1 in 20 countries, racking up over 7 million downloads to make it Gaga’s best selling digital single. The track won Gaga her first Grammy for Best Dance Recording at the 52nd Grammy Awards, while it was also nominated for Song of the Year and Record of the Year.
