Law enforcement authorities said that at least 10 people were murdered in a shooting at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, on Saturday afternoon.
The suspected gunman is taken into custody by Buffalo police on Saturday afternoon.
Tops Friendly Market was the scene of the tragedy.
Officials said a shooter entered the shop and began shooting as soon as he got inside.
According to the person, investigators suspect the shooter may have been live broadcasting the incident and are investigating whether he wrote a manifesto online.
Authorities have not yet determined a clear reason for the shooting, but they are examining if it was motivated by racial prejudice.
Military-style gear and body armour were seen on the gunman by witnesses, one officer added.
Witnesses reported seeing the gunman leave the scene. White guy in late teens or early twenties with complete camouflage, black helmet, and what seemed to be rifle were the only descriptions they had.
“He was standing there with the gun to his chin. We were like what the heck is going on? Why does this kid have a gun to his face? a eyewitness reported.
“He ripped off his helmet, dropped his gun, and was tackled by the police.”
