From now until 30 September 2025, new purchases of AMEX My Travel Insurance come with either a Samsonite luggage or up to S$150 eCapitaVouchers. Customers also receive S$5–20 in referral credits.

American Express has refreshed the welcome gifts for its My Travel Insurance plans. Policyholders can now enjoy up to S$150 in eCapitaVouchers (eCV) or a Samsonite luggage when buying either a single-trip or annual plan.

In addition, there is a referral bonus of S$5–20 in statement credits for purchases made through the referral programme.

This is less generous than the previous referral offer, which provided up to 5,000 MR points, 2,500 miles, or S$25 eCV. Nevertheless, this promotion applies until the end of 2025.

AMEX My Travel Insurance offer

From 1 July to 30 September 2025, policyholders will receive the following gifts:

Plan TypeSingle TripAnnual Multi-Trip

APAC includes Australia, New Zealand, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, Mongolia, Japan, South Korea, India, Sri Lanka, and Southeast Asia

Alongside this, American Express cardholders purchasing a plan via the referral programme will also receive:

  • Single trip: S$5 statement credit
  • Annual multi-trip: S$20 statement credit

Each policy purchase entitles the holder to one welcome gift and one referral gift. For example, two Superior single-trip plans would give two sets of S$40 eCV plus two S$5 statement credits.

To ensure accurate tracking, open a new browser session before each purchase by closing and reopening the referral link.

How much coverage is provided?

The Superior plan offers:

  • Up to S$2 million for overseas medical expenses
  • Up to S$2 million for personal liability
  • S$1 million for accidental death and permanent disablement
  • S$150,000 for legal expenses
  • S$50,000 for post-journey medical costs
  • S$20,000 for travel cancellation or curtailment
  • S$8,000 for baggage and personal property loss
  • S$1,000 for rental car excess

Coverage also applies to COVID-19, travel delays, misconnections, baggage delays, diversions, and overbooked flights.

In addition, the plan includes up to S$20,000 coverage for forfeited frequent flyer points if travel cannot take place.

Terms & fulfilment

  • Gifts from policy purchases are sent within eight weeks.
  • Referral rewards are processed within ten weeks.
  • Policy documents and full terms are available in the factsheet, policy wording, FAQs, and promotion details.

How to purchase a plan

When using the referral link, applicants will first be asked for their AMEX card number. The referral reward is then credited to that card.

After this, select the desired plan and proceed with purchase. The promo code TRAVELASSURED should apply automatically, granting access to the welcome gifts.

What card should you use?

Although American Express does not usually give points for insurance payments, exceptions exist for insurance products purchased via authorised AMEX channels.
