Welcome to our ‘Valorant: How To Play Sage?’ guide that will help you understand this agent in depth. Playing Sage, Valorant’s resident healer, may be an important element of any team comp if used effectively.
Sage is Valorant’s quintessential healer, able to both replenish and restore her companions. This sweet Sentinel is ideal for those that want to play on the defense.
Given Sage’s power, let’s look at how you may utilize her to your advantage in even the most intense battles. Here’s all you need to know about her in Valorant.
Sage’s abilities
Sage’s motto is “safe.” In a world where second chances are rare, Sage offers the ultimate safety net for her allies.
Heroics like her Healing Orb and Barrier may keep damaged friends alive. Sage’s ability to resuscitate friendly Agents makes her a strong choice. Below are Sage’s four abilities:
Barrier Orb: Equip a barrier orb. Fire places a solid wall. Alt Fire rotates the targeter.
Slow Orb: Equip a Slowing Orb. Fire to launch the Orb, which expands upon hitting the ground, creating a zone that slows players who walk on it.
Healing Orb: Equip a healing orb. Fire with your crosshairs over a damaged ally to activate a heal-over-time on them. Alt Fire while Sage is damaged to activate a self heal-over-time.
Resurrection: Equip a resurrection ability. Fire with your crosshairs placed over a dead ally to begin resurrecting them. After a brief channel, the ally will be brought back to life with full health.
Sage’s main strength is healing, which sets her apart from other students in her class. The Sentinel Agent’s Healing Orb may save you or a teammate from death during a round.
Her Ultimate, which resurrects a deceased comrade, is a game changer. With Resurrection, your buddy is back in the game in seconds. This is particularly important if the resurrected teammate has had time to observe, gaining valuable information that might affect the outcome of a round.
How to play as Sage?
Sage won’t go into the fray and one tap the opposition team. It’s all about defence and assisting allies. Her heals and resurrect are important, but so are her Barrier Orb and Slow Orb.
Discuss the Barrier Orb. The ice wall has changed throughout time, but it may still cause havoc on the battlefield. Use it to block one of the key Bomb Site entrances, like Haven’s C site. A wall near the Attacker Side spawn might block access to it. The wall can be shattered by shooting it enough times, but then you’ve disclosed your position to Sage’s crew, who will likely collapse to retaliate.
Sage’s Slow Orb looks fantastic on paper, but it’s hard to learn. A misplaced throw might slow your whole squad down. Learn the map’s main choke areas so you can halt the whole opponent team and spray them from there.
On paper, Sage looks like a must-have for any Valorant squad, but in fact, she isn’t. Her kit is amazing on defense but not so great on offence, particularly when playing alongside teammates who like to rush to the point.
