Tulsi Gabbard is leaving the Democratic party as its filled with warmongers
Tulsi Gabbard, a 2020 presidential hopeful, quit the Democrats on Tuesday.
Gabbard has been at conflict with the Democratic Party and its policies for years.
“I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party. It’s now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue & stoking anti-white racism, who actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms enshrined in our Constitution,” Gabbard said in a social media video. The news came in the first edition of her new podcast.
Gabbard, the first American Samoan and Hindu in Congress, attacked Democrats’ “open border” policies and anti-police rhetoric.
The former representative from Hawaii’s 2nd district was a unique and often contentious Democrat.
As a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, she cited her Iraq War experience and anti-interventionism. She blamed US meddling in Latin America for the spike in migration across the southern US border and co-sponsored multiple legislation to keep migrant families together at the border.
When Gabbard ran for president, Hillary Clinton said she was being groomed as a third-party candidate by the Russians. Clinton called the Hawaii Democrat a “Russian asset” without naming him.
Gabbard abandoned a slander complaint in May 2020.
Gabbard endorsed Joe Biden after suspending her 2020 presidential candidacy, but she is since been a strong Trump critic and frequently on Fox News.
“President Biden campaigned on a message of unity, healing the partisan divide bringing the country together. He just gave a big speech saying supporters of President (Donald) Trump are the most extremist group in our country and a threat to our democracy. That’s half the country,” She mentioned so in her Tuesday announcement video.
Gabbard was criticized earlier this year by local Democrats who voted to censure her for speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference.
The former lawmaker did not say which party she would join but called on “independent-minded Democrats” to leave.
