Just when you thought the Taylor-Kim feud had fizzled out, Ms. Swift pulls a slick one with her latest album drop! The newly released ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ is keeping Swifties on their toes, dissecting each lyric for hidden gems.
And one track, in particular, has fans buzzing – ‘thanK you aIMee’ seems to be a thinly-veiled jab at Taylor’s long-standing beef with Kim Kardashian!
The title itself is a crafty capitalized nod to KIM, while Tay’s lyrics paint a whimsical picture of her hometown…with a bronze, spray-tanned Kim statue and a plaque threatening to “push me down the stairs.” She also seems to reference that infamous 2016 phone call leak, crooning “it wasn’t a fair fight or a clean kill/Each time that Aimee stomped across my grave.”
In a recent explosive interview, Taylor got candid about the mental toll of the feud, citing the phone call leak as her lowest point.
But she’s come out stronger, thanking Kim for inadvertently helping her “heal” through the storm. “All that time you were throwin’ punches, I was buildin’ somethin’,” she sings defiantly.
While some fans are amused by this seeming diss track, others are just glad to see Taylor’s growth from the drama. One Swiftie summed it up perfectly – “It’s like a healed version of ‘Look What You Made Me Do’.”
Whether you’re Team Taylor or Team Kim, you’ve got to admit – the pop titan knows how to spin her real-life feuds into captivating musical narratives!
