Scorn: Bolt Gun Puzzle Guide
After solving the minecart puzzle and helping the creature open the door, Scorn’s first act is almost done. We have produced a concise guide to this puzzle’s new mechanic.
Puzzle Guide for Scorn Bolt Gun
After riding the elevator platform up, you will move forward into a big expanse with many paths.
Do not worry about these yet. Forward until you reach the back of the wide room. As you approach, a pod should rise. Your bolt gun is here.
Use the pod to get the gun.
Meat-chanical Tree
With your bolt cannon, enter the left or right doorway and proceed down the curving path. Either way will lead to a bizarre tree with fleshy and mechanical elements. You can activate this “tree” panel.
You can control a ground-based drone. Move it in front of you and trigger it to merge with the pod before you.
The drone-pod thing can now be used on the tree and placed in the hole. You have unlocked another control panel nearby that you need to walk to.
Open neighboring shutters by activating the control panel.
You can now return down the winding route to the weird tree. Another control panel will be near the bolt gun chamber entryway. To activate an identical control panel, use your bolt cannon on this control panel and then choose the direction you did not initially take (right or left).
After activating both panels with your new bolt cannon, you must reach the tree again. The game’s initial “combat” will make this harder. Hot steam-spraying drones will kill you. Avoid this steam and use your bolt pistol to shoot drones (hold right mouse button to aim and click to shoot).
It is a melee bolt weapon, not a gun. Thus, you must approach the drones to destroy them. To avoid damage, attack them from behind. When you reach the tree again, you will see two additional pods to move into the holes.
