Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: Where and How to catch Luvdisc

The adorable heart-shaped Pokemon Luvdisc is making a comeback in the Paldea area. The numbers aren’t great, but a shiny Luvdisc is pretty and it’s nice to have this Pokemon in your Pokedex. The best spots to capture Luvdisc in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are detailed below.

Where to Find Luvdisc

Luvdisc can be found in the Paldean Sea that surrounds the southern half of the region you’ll need to swim on your ride Pokemon to encounter this Pokemon, as it never wanders into beaches. Luvdisc’s Attack and Special Attack are both quite low, so if you’re using it to weaken your Pokemon before throwing a Pokeball, you shouldn’t count on it to knock it out.

Pokemon must be happy with Luvdisc just as it is, because they haven’t bothered to make any regional variants, evolutions, or baby Pokemon for it since it was first introduced in the Hoenn Region.

Although not as frequent as Buizel and Floatzel in the water, Luvdisc do tend to congregate around schools, making it slightly easier to get a shiny. Since Shiny Luvdisc is yellow, it is easy to distinguish it from other Pokémon in the area; however, you will need to make landfall in order to begin a picnic and replenish Shiny Meal abilities if they run out.
