NBA 2K22 gamers are going insane about the game’s “rigged” passing, which has been an issue for years. The 2K series may be the best basketball game ever made, but players are unhappy with the passing mechanics.
Passing is important in basketball, and it is in the 2K games as well. The issue is that it rarely works as intended, and players are fed up. A video on the NBA 2K Reddit demonstrates exactly why players and fans hate passing.
The player in the paint has an open man and despite the user input, sends a high floater that the defence intercepts. After viewing that pass, it’s easy to see why the player could be done with 2K.
But, as one player noted in the comments, this isn’t unique to 2K22. Years of “rigged” ball movement in the series.
“The passing trajectory has been manipulated since 2K16,” they said. A “floating” pass to a “cutting” teammate either “floats” to the defender or drags your teammate away from the goal.
Hundreds of footage of this occuring on the 2K subreddit. No matter what players do, the game seems to make its own conclusions about who gets the ball.
Every year, a new NBA 2K game is published. With 2K23 due out in September 2022, we can only hope the devs finally notice and do something about it.
