The latest award in Tampa Bay’s spectacular calendar year is atop the Madden 22 best teams list, which comes as no surprise after their Super Bowl victory in February. They, like Madden 22’s third-ranked team, the Green Bay Packers, have lived up to their billing in real life.
Who else makes the top seven, though? We answer that question in depth below, as well as present a list of ratings for all 32 NFL teams, as of release day (Friday, August 20). This is a list of the best Madden 22 teams.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers – 92
The defending Super Bowl champions entered the upcoming season with four players rated at 90 or above. Tom Brady, the New England Patriots quarterback and Madden 22 cover star, is unsurprisingly at the top of the list with a score of 97, followed by Lavonte David (MLB, 93), Mike Evans (WR, 91), and Ali Marpet (WR, 91). (LG, 90).
Giovani Bernard, the squad’s newest running back, has a rating of 77, which places him third on the team after Ronald Jones II (81) and Leonard Fournette (80). (78). Even lower is the grade given to Bucs first-round draught pick Joe Tryon, who receives a meagre 69.

Kansas City Chiefs – 90
When it comes to Madden 22, the vanquished Super Bowl finalists are still in command. One year after winning their first rings, star quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce both receive the highest possible overall rating of 99.
Tyreek Hill, a wide receiver, has a 98 rating, with 99 speed, 99 acceleration, and 98 agility – good luck dealing with that offence in online games. Tryann Mathieu (SS, 95) and Chris Jones are also breaking the 90-point barrier (LE, 90). The Chiefs didn’t have a pick until the late second round, when linebacker Nick Bolton was selected with a 70 OVR.
Green Bay Packers – 89
Will he succeed? Will he or won’t he? After a long and eventful offseason, star quarterback Aaron Rodgers finally donned a Packers uniform, albeit with a lower overall rating of 96 than Green Bay’s highest-rated Madden 22 player. Instead, wide receiver Davante Adams, Rodgers’ favourite target, earns the honour with an OVR of 99.
David Bakhtiari (left tackle, 96) is a perfect match for the man he’s supposed to defend, while Jaire Alexander (CB, 95) and Aaron Jones (HB, 91) are also in line for big seasons. First-round pick Eric Stokes, who is rated 71 heading into his first season, will serve as Alexander’s backup.
Baltimore Ravens – 88
Lamar Jackson, the Ravens’ hero and Madden 21 cover star, is the team’s talisman these days, but he, like Rodgers, falls short of being the best player on an incredibly consistent team. Jackson starts the game with a 91 OVR, which puts him in third place on the Baltimore roster.
Ronnie Stanley (93), a sixth-year right tackle, and Marlon Humphrey, a ball-hawking cornerback, are above him (92). Calais Campbell (RE, 90), Mark Andrews (TE, 88), Marcus Peters (CB, 88), and the ever-reliable Justin Tucker are among the Maryland maulers’ 16 players graded 80 or higher (K, 87).
Cleveland Browns – 87
In the race for the AFC North title, the Ravens’ primary opponents fall a point short, according to EA Tiburon’s ratings experts. With an aggregate rating of 98, they rank powerful defensive end Myles Garrett as the Browns’ top player. Only one other Brown player has a score of 90 or higher: running back Nick Chubb (96), and three others have 89s: right lineman Wyatt Teller, cornerback Denzel Ward, and wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
Baker Mayfield, the beloved signal caller, will have to make do with an 84 OVR, but there is some positive news at the strong safety position. Josh Johnson III, an offseason acquisition, led the Rams in tackles last season and is rewarded with an 86.
Buffalo Bills – 86
Buffalo took over the AFC East last time around after the New England Patriots had a bad year, and did so in such a way that the Pats, Dolphins, and Jets may be looking up with envy for seasons to come. Josh Allen’s flawless season in the pocket earns him an 88 overall rating, tied with free safety Micah Hyde – but a few points behind Stefon Diggs (WR, 97) and Tre’Davious White (WR, 98). (CB, 93).
Emmanuel Sanders (WR, 83) is a free agency addition to a receiving corps that also includes Cole Beasley (WR, 86) and Dawson Knox (TE, 76).
Dallas Cowboys – 86
Controversial. Mick McCarthy’s first season in Dallas was abysmal, with the Cowboys ending 6-10 — albeit losing quarterback Dak Prescott to a shattered ankle five games in had a huge hand in the season’s demise. Prescott has an overall rating of 87 in Madden 22, and EA expects big things from Zack Martin (RG, 98), Amari Cooper (WR, 92), Tyrone Smith (LT, 91), and Ezekiel Elliott (RB, 91). (HB, 88).
Along with Jaylon Smith (MLB, 77) and Leighton Vander Esch, first-round pick Micah Parsons (ROLB, 75) is anticipated to have an early impact (LOLB, 80).
