In an electrifying start to his latest subathon, Kai Cenat has already broken his previous Twitch subscriber record just 11 days into Mafiathon 2, putting him on a rapid trajectory toward reclaiming the all-time Twitch subscriber crown.
Kai first made Twitch history back in March 2023, when he surpassed Ludwig’s long-standing record by amassing over 306,000 subscribers. This feat solidified him as one of the platform’s most successful creators, a title he held until September 2024.
At that point, VTuber Ironmouse raised the bar with her own subathon, hitting over 326,000 subscribers by the month’s end, a record achieved through her unique blend of gaming, interactions, and charity initiatives.
Not one to back down, Kai vowed to retake the crown, announcing Mafiathon 2 in October. The event kicked off on November 1, to surpass Ironmouse’s record. Within three days, Kai was already halfway there, and now, less than two weeks in, he has shattered his previous record, reaffirming his influence and popularity on the platform.
The Mafiathon 2 stream has been packed with engaging activities, surprises, and celebrity guest appearances. Right from the start, Kai treated his audience to a nostalgia-fuelled crossover with actress Miranda Cosgrove, the star of iCarly. Together, they created a custom segment, aptly named KaiCarly, which instantly became a fan favorite.
Kai made headlines again a few days later when he and his team headed over to Snoop Dogg’s mansion, hinting at a possible sleepover stream—an echo of his record-breaking broadcast with comedian Kevin Hart and rapper Druski last year.
The event has continued to draw big names, with rappers DDG and GloRilla making appearances and many others set to join before the end of the month.
Kai’s audience has been treated to constant entertainment, keeping subscriber numbers climbing as he inches closer to his ultimate goal.
With Mafiathon 2 far from over, Kai Cenat is again proving why he’s a powerhouse on Twitch. If the current pace holds, he might just end the month holding the record, solidifying his legacy in the Twitch hall of fame.
