    Halo Infinite: PC Settings Guide

The PC version of Halo Infinite requires some fine tuning to get the best performance and visual quality. Tips for a better experience are here.

In the past, Halo has only been available on consoles. With the release of the multiplayer beta for Halo Infinite, PC gamers will be able to play Halo for the first time since Combat Evolved: Day One (2001). Unlike other recent major releases, 343 Industries didn’t let players down when they quietly released the game on PC and Xbox last week. Only the progression system, which 343i has been tinkering with since the release of Halo Infinite, has drawn criticism. The PC version of the game looks stunning and runs smoothly on the majority of systems. There are over 30 different visual settings available for PC gamers to customise their experience.

Gamers can customise their visual settings in PC gaming so that they can maximise their hardware and game performance through the use of higher or lower visual settings. A high FPS (frames per second) can be achieved by doing this. For Halo Infinite to be a competitive first-person shooter, players must shoot for the head, which necessitates a high frame rate. As a result, even with less-than-stellar PC hardware, Halo Infinite runs smoothly at 60+ frames per second. It is possible for PC gamers with high-end setups to enjoy an even more smooth 120+ FPS with some tweaks to their visual settings, depending on their hardware.

Make sure you have the most recent version of your GPU drivers installed before adjusting the game’s graphical settings. You’ll be sure to maximise your graphics card’s performance and fix any issues that may arise. Infinite’s performance/quality depends heavily on the type of hardware and resolution it’s running at. When playing at 1920x1080p, the FPS will be significantly higher than when playing at 2560x1440p, but the visual quality will be noticeably lower.

Halo Infinite Multiplayer – Recommended PC Configuration

Players should make sure their graphics drivers are up to date before fiddling around with them. The methods listed below work for both Nvidia and AMD drivers.

Methods For Updating The Nvidia Driver

    1. Open GeForce experience app.
    2. Click the “Drivers’ “tab on the top left.
    3. Click the “check for updates” tab on the top right
    4. Install it via “Express” or “Custom” installations tabs on the top-right if a new driver is available.

How To Update AMD Graphics Driver:

AMD graphics card users can update their GPU drivers using the Radeon Settings:

    1. Right-click on your desktop
    2. Select AMD Radeon Settings
    3. Click on the Home icon
    4. Click ‘New Updates’ on the bottom left
    5. Select the “check or updates” tab
    6. If an update is available, follow the steps provided

Players with AMD hardware should be aware of Windows 11 slowing down their PC and should avoid the update altogether.

    Halo Infinite PC System Requirements

Minimum (60+ FPS depending on settings):

    • OS: Windows 10 RS3 x64
    • Processor: AMD FX-8370 or Intel i5-4440
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: AMD RX 570 or Nvidia GTX 1050 ti
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Storage: 50 GB available

Any players with the minimum PC system requirements should keep all visual settings on Low.

Recommended (80-165+ FPS depending on settings)

    • OS: Windows 10 19H2 x64
    • Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel i7-9700k
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Graphics: Radeon RX 5700 XT or Nvidia RTX 2070
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Storage: 50 GB available

However, while 343I lists the recommended PC requirements for 60 FPS or 120 FPS, how Halo Infinite performs on any given PC is largely up to the player because of its extensive visual settings.

Recommended PC Specs/Best Performance (120+ FPS) Best settings for recommended PC specs

Achieving 120+ FPS on PCs that closely match the recommended specs of 343I’s game is possible with these settings, which are designed to maximise framerate while maintaining good quality. It’s important for players to remember that FPS fluctuates a lot depending on the game mode they’re in. Big Team Battle 12v12 modes, for example, will fare much worse than Halo Infinite Ranked 4×4.

Maximum Quality and Locked 120 FPS are the best settings for high-end computers.

A smooth 120 FPS experience can be had with PC hardware that exceeds the recommended specifications, so here are some of the best settings. Graphics cards from the RTX 30 and Radeon RX 60 series will do the best in this test.

If the player’s PC hardware allows, “Ultra” settings can be applied to any of these settings, but this is not recommended due to the game’s current PC optimization. Playing in offline mode may improve performance because of the game’s multiplayer servers. Because Halo Infinite’s multiplayer is still in beta, it’s possible that some of these options will be altered after the game’s day one patch is released on December 8th.
