Fortnite Chapter 3: How to find a Tornado
The Shadow Tracker pistol and The Dub shotgun have both been added to the island in Fortnite Chapter 3. In addition, the Tornado Week hotfix offered a new way to glide over the island by allowing the swirling winds to lift you into the air. Here’s how to discover a Tornado and ride it.
First and foremost, a tornado’s creation is unpredictable. They don’t have Rift Generators or other unique technologies, therefore they don’t have permanent locations.
They also don’t appear on your map once they spawn, so keep an eye on the horizon to locate them as they tear over the countryside. The good news is that they’re simple to identify once you get close to them – after all, they’re gigantic spirals of hazardous wind.
In Fortnite, they’re actually not that dangerous. When you see one, run inside and you’ll be lifted into the air. You can either depart and glide to a new location on the map or keep spinning until the tornado itself spits you out as you swirl around the column.
When it happens, you won’t suffer any fall damage, so you can safely ride the tornado for as long as it lets you. A motorboat can quickly sail you over to one that forms over a body of water — which, ahem, technically makes it a waterspout.
