Chesapeake Walmart shooter was identified as Andre Bing
The Virginia Walmart shooter has been identified as Andre Bing, the store manager. Bing took the lives of six coworkers before taking his own.
A Facebook Live video, purportedly recorded by a Walmart worker, featuring a coworker named “Andre,” has gone viral.
The young man can be seen joking around with the workers as the woman points her camera in his direction. We don’t know when this footage was shot.
Chesapeake Police Chief Mark Solesky said that the shooter killed six of his coworkers before taking his own life.
One body was found near the front of the store, and the other four, including the gunman, were found in the break room, according to the police. They reported that despite transferring three more patients to other hospitals for treatment, all three ultimately succumbed to their injuries.
An alleged store worker described the terrifying event on Facebook Live, initially identifying the assailant as a manager.
“He blew his brains out and everything. He killed the girl in there and everything. He came in and started spraying. I’m sorry for the victims,” claimed the worker.
“I just left out of the break room, manager come up in there, started capping people up in there, started shooting, bro. The manager came in, started dumping, man. As soon as I left out the break room, he went in there, man … that s- wild,” he explained
Later, Walmart issued a statement identifying Bing as follows: “We are focused on doing everything we can to support our associates and their families at this time. The alleged shooter has been identified as Andre Bing. We can confirm he was a Walmart associate.”
The house where Bing was allegedly staying was broken into by police early on Wednesday.
