Blood of Zeus Season 3 Bringing the Heat
Alright, mythological fantasy fans, listen up! Our favorite bonkers anime series Blood of Zeus is coming back for round three, and this time, it sounds like the creators are taking the godly conflicts to insane new levels.
Just when you thought the whole underworld takeover plot from Season 2 was wild enough, the Parlapanides brothers have something even crazier in store for poor Heron and the crew. In a recent interview, they straight-up confirmed Blood of Zeus Season 3 is officially happening – and it won’t be another painfully long multi-year wait this time around.
“Season three will not take that long,” Charley Parlapanides told the folks at What’s on Netflix. “It’ll take about a year.” Music to our anime-loving ears!
Heron Can’t Catch a Break
Speaking of that mind-melting Season 2 finale…damn, the embattled demigod Heron just cannot buy a break, can he? Last we saw, dude was caught in an absolute whirlwind after Daddy Zeus bit the dust in epic fashion.
With the almighty Titan Typhon unleashed and Kronos – Zeus’s own vindictive father – weaseling his way into the power vacuum, Olympus looked ready to implode. And stuck in the middle of it all was our guy Heron, desperately trying to save his brother Seraphim from eternal damnation in the Underworld.
So where does the story go from here? The creators are keeping that under tighter wraps than Pandora’s infamous box for now. But they did tease that the “sibling complications” driving the conflict will only escalate further as Heron navigates these dangerous new mythological threats.
Ominously, Charley added: “For us, one of the most iconic Greek mythological figures [is coming]…If people want to see more seasons, I hope they turn out and watch in full force.”
The Hype Is Too Real
Okay, okay – so maybe that quote sounds a bit threatening. But you just know the animators have some absolutely batshit crazy ideas planned for Blood of Zeus’ inevitable third season. After blowing our minds with the anime’s stylish 2020 debut and that brilliantly unhinged Season 2 continuation, they’ve proven they can take these classic myths to depraved, decadent new depths of madness.
The good news is we won’t have to wait another frustrating eternity for the new season to hit Netflix. Thanks to the streamer’s back-to-back renewals, the Parlapanides squad can “expedite the production time and mitigate the wait.” Early rumblings point to a potential 2024 release sending Blood of Zeus roaring back into our lives.
At this point, I’m ready for anything: Medusa levels of stone-cold insanity, Kronos and Typhon duking it out like divine bar brawlers, Heron maybe even catching a tiny break before getting hurled into the next mythological meat grinder. This anime isn’t pulling any punches – and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
So prepare yourselves, fellow Blood of Zeus fans. Because Season 3 is inevitable, and it’s gonna be one helluva scorching-hot return to Mount Olympus!
