Apple Reality Pro VR Headgear: Release date, Leaks, and Rumors
It’s been roughly five years since we last heard speculation and leaks about Apple’s plans. It’s not a cell phone, tablet, or laptop computer. But it’s something that will round out Apple’s offerings and join the Apple Ecosystem. It’s Apple’s newest virtual reality headset. If you’re reading this, you probably haven’t been completely surprised to learn that Apple is planning to make a splash in the burgeoning Mixed Reality market (MR).
What is Mixed Reality?
Apple, as a separate entity, has been diligently developing the revolutionary concept of Mixed Reality. To that end, designers have been exploring ways to merge the two technologies, hoping to enhance the Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality experiences users currently have. That’s why if Mixed Reality ever makes it to market, Apple will get a gold star for doing something truly groundbreaking. But to have reached this point! In order to fix the hardware’s reported compatibility issues with the software on which Apple’s developers have been working, the company has been forced to repeatedly push back the launch of its new product.
Finally, the COVID-19 pandemic hampered efforts to perfect this Mixed Reality headset. On the other hand, it seems that Apple is ready to introduce innovation at long last. Let’s see what Apple has in store for us.
Apple Reality Pro VR Headgear: Leaks and Rumors
Apple hasn’t revealed their naming scheme for their current line of hats just yet. Mixed Reality Headgear (MR Headgear) or Reality Pro VR headgear have been bandied about as possible names. The folks at Apple have info on this coming very soon. According to Bloomberg’s most reliable Apple source, Mark Gurman, Apple has completed the development of its new MR headset and is now ready to introduce it to the public. Apple has already started testing its new innovative product by unveiling it to a select group of AR/VR app developers.
What is Apple XrOS?
As was previously stated, the Cupertino behemoth was struggling to bridge the gap between hardware and software, so engineers made the effort to create a dedicated operating system for this piece of headgear. At a glance, we can say that the forthcoming Apple Reality Pro VR or MR headset will be powered by the new Apple xrOS. By integrating with the existing Apple ecosystem, xrOS makes it easier for developers to keep in touch with their audiences while also focusing on Virtual and Augmented Reality.
When Apple Reality Pro VR Headgear launch in 2023?
That concludes the feature in full. However, the release date is the most significant problem. It’s reasonable to assume that Apple’s Reality Pro VR headset will be released this year, probably in March or April, despite the company’s silence on the matter. That’s why we’re crossing our fingers that it’ll be unveiled either before or during Apple’s annual WWDC conference (World Wide Developers Conference).
