Zinedine Zidane won’t seek Manchester United job – sources
According to sources, former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is not interested in succeeding Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager of Manchester United.
Zidane, who is frequently mentioned as a possible replacement for Solskjaer on the Old Trafford bench, is not in a hurry to return to management and is waiting for the appropriate moment to present itself.
Solskjaer is struggling to keep his job as United manager, according to ESPN’s Mark Ogden, with a substantial portion of the players have lost faith in the Norwegian strategist even before Sunday’s 5-0 loss to Liverpool.
According to ESPN, the United management is aware that Antonio Conte, the former coach of Juventus, Chelsea, and Inter Milan, is being considered as a candidate.
Zidane, a member of France’s 1998 World Cup-winning side, is a strong contender to succeed Didier Deschamps as coach of Les Bleus when he stands down after the 2022 World Cup or Euro 2024.
Last summer, Zidane, 49, left Real Madrid to complete his second spell in charge at the Bernabeu. He won a flurry of trophies during his two stints in command at Real Madrid, including three Champions League wins, two LaLiga victories, and two Club World Cup titles. He’s also the winner of two European Supercups.
