Hearty Bass, just like in Breath of the Wild, can be fused with other things to improve their properties or utilized in recipes.
You’d be excused for thinking these fish would be found in Hyrule’s rivers, but in fact they’re exclusive to the Sky Islands of TLK. Players should head to the Necluda Sky Archipelago and the West Hebra Sky Archipelago. Both give numerous Bass, but the latter requires the Zora Armor to be unlocked.
Players need to kill Hearty Bass with an arrow shot if they want to catch them. After that, enter the water and get the fish. If you try to destroy them with explosives like Bomb Flowers, all you’ll get in return are Roasted Bass, which are useless. In other words, stick to tried-and-true techniques.
Link can gain a couple of hearts by eating them raw, therefore this is a legal use. Cooking it, however, restores all of your health and grants you temporary yellow hearts. Armor, like as that owned by Zora, can also be improved with this material.
The in-game description goes like this: The water’s edge is a common habitat for this huge fish. It has a large body, so it can store a lot of food. In addition to increasing your maximum heart count, using it in cooking will restore all of your hearts.
