Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – How to Get Into Gerudo Town
The billowing sand veil that envelops Gerdudo Town may be seen when you enter Gerudo territory. Fortunately, it stops short of the Oasis, but you’ll still have a tough time getting to the city itself.
If you decide to venture out into the storm, the game will throw two challenges your way. The first problem is that the sand will obscure your view of your surroundings. Second, your map will become a useless, blurry muddle.
Even though you can’t see the specifics of the map, you can still use fast travel to leave the location. None of your markers, including beacons, will show up in the sand, so you’ll have to charge in blind.
However, there is a “cheat” that can make weathering the storm a little less daunting. You can see all of Gerudo Town from the top of the watch tower, which you’ll need to climb. Using your paraglider, you must travel to the enormous rock in front of you.
In order to reach the town from the enormous boulder, you must first ascend to its highest point. After then, all you can do is glide until you can’t anymore, and then keep going in a straight line. The area may be inhabited by monsters, but that’s no reason to become sidetracked. You have to put them out of your mind and press on.
Inside the sand cloak, you might also find a wind current that you can ride to great heights, out of the reach of your adversaries. You will locate the gate to Gerudo Town eventually, but it will be deserted.
Riju’s diary can be found in her room, or you can ask a Gerudo guarding the entrance to the underground shelter. The castle’s top-floor shrine must be activated. Instead of making your way up the big rock and structure, you can just use Ascend power to get there.
