” Zac Efron, Nicole Kidman, Joey King – Team up For Netflix Romantic Comedy”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nicole Kidman, Zac Efron, and Joey King will star in an upcoming Netflix romantic comedy.
Richard LaGravenese, who has previously worked as a screenwriter on The Fisher King, The Bridges of Madison County, and other projects, will pen the untitled feature. Carrie Solomon, who is presently collaborating with Margot Robbie on the recently announced Ocean’s 11 prequel film, will co-write the film.
The new film’s plot is being kept under wraps, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, a “surprising romance kicks off hilarious consequences for a young woman, her mother, and her movie star employer.” Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum, and Alyssa Altman will produce the untitled rom-com, which will reportedly begin filming later this summer in Atlanta
Kidman is fresh off an Oscar nomination for her part as Lucille Ball in Amazon’s Being the Ricardos, as well as a role in Robert Eggers’ The Northman earlier this year. Efron was also in theatres earlier this year in Blumhouse’s version of Stephen King’s Firestarter. King, meanwhile, is continuing her meteoric climb after breaking out in the Netflix adolescent romance trilogy The Kissing Booth. Her next role will be in Hulu’s mediaeval action film The Princess, which will premiere on July 1, 2022.
